This precious little family met me at Bush Park on bright sunny day and their little toddler wasn’t so sure about this weird lady with a big camera at first. We let him decide where we should go first and ended up by the creek watching the ducks. I let him have space while taking some photos of their sweet interactions on the bridge and once I showed him how to throw leaves off the edge, then were pals from there on out. I find things work much better when I let kids make decisions and have the time they need to adjust to this new experience rather than forcing smiles or cooperation. Nobody likes that.
