Spring is coming! And with it, the glorious and stunning cherry blossoms all around Oregon! Haley and Kyler wanted some springy cherry blossom engagement photos and were willing to be flexible because often times the cherry blossoms bloom and are only out for a short window. In Oregon, they most often bloom somewhere between mid March to early April and usually are only out for two to three weeks max. That’s also usually a rainy and windy time of the year so it can be tricky to schedule a session when the sun is out. Luckily Haley and Kyler were game to play it by ear! I shot them a message and said I think it’s looking good for tomorrow, are you down!? And they were! We took advantage of a dry afternoon in mid April and headed to Bush Pasture Park in Salem, Oregon.
We played among the pink blossoms and I even climbed up into one of the cherry trees to get a fun angle! Then we popped into the The Bush House Museum to snap a few dark and moody shots in an amazing art installation by Kathryn Cellerini Moore.

Engagement photos are a great way to get comfortable in front of the camera with your wedding photographer before the day and to get photos that can be fun and casual and feature a different part of your relationship. And of course you can use these photos for your wedding invitations and save the date cards or even display at the wedding. If they’re done right, it’ll just feel like a date that you brought a photographer along with you. That’s my goal anyway!
